Bio

Amy received her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2004 at Texas A&M University and Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2006 at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.  She became certified as a Diabetes Educator in 2011.

 

Prior to moving back to her hometown of San Antonio, she spent her career as a physician assistant at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.  There, she served as a clinician in the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism, collaborated with diabetes education program and served as a lecturer for Physician Assistant, Dietician, and Endocrine fellowship programs.  She has extensive experience in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes as well as insulin pumps and continuous glucose sensor devices.  In addition, she is experienced in other areas of endocrinology including management of thyroid disease, calcium disorders, pituitary disorders and osteoporosis. 

 

She joined the Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists in August 2015 and is excited to work collaboratively with our team of physicians and mid-level providers to provide a high level of care for her patients.
