Julie Rogers MSN, FNP-C
Julie is a board certified family nurse practitioner credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and her Master's degree in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Prior to joining Diabetes and Metabolism Specialists, Julie worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine clinic. Julie has 16 years of experience as a Registered Nurse working in transplant, ICU, renal, medical, surgical, oncology, and infection control. She worked most of her career at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa where she served as the charge nurse for the transplant telemetry/oncology unit, as well as preceptor for graduate nurses and nursing students. She was the Heart Transplant Coordinator for CHRISTUS Transplant Institute for 5 years where she performed patient evaluations on heart failure and end-stage cardiomyopathy patients for possible transplantation. Julie participated in the inpatient care and educational needs of the post-heart transplant patients and their families. She also assisted with cardiac stress testing and cath lab recovery for the EKG department.
Julie is originally from the Pacific Northwest. She landed here in Texas after serving 5 years in the U.S. Army as a combat medic. In her spare time she enjoys boating and spending time with her family and friends.
