Karen Knox, PhD, RN, APRN, ACNS-BC
Ms. Knox has education beyond that of a standard registered nurse to provide a higher level of patient care as a member of a larger category of nurses called Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). Advanced Practice Registered Nurses include nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, nurse midwives, and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS). Ms. Knox received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI.; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI.; Master of Science in Public Health, Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and PhD in Public Health, Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ms. Knox is Board Certified as Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS-BC) through ANCC. She has extensive clinical experience as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) in Michigan, Iowa, and Texas. In addition to her clinical practice, she teaches part-time research courses (virtual) at Walden University Graduate Nursing Program, Minneapolis, MN.
